The Game That Shaped My Mind: Chess

What’s your favorite game (card, board, video, etc.)? Why?

Chess has been my favorite game for as long as I can remember. It’s more than just a board game it’s a battle of minds, a test of patience, and a dance of strategy. Every move matters, and every decision carries weight, which makes it incredibly engaging.

What fascinates me most is how it mirrors life. Sometimes you have to sacrifice something valuable to win in the long run. Sometimes you have to think ten steps ahead, and sometimes you simply have to adapt on the fly. Chess has taught me to be calm under pressure, to plan, and to embrace both victory and loss with grace.

Whether I’m playing with a friend across the board or online with someone halfway across the world, chess never feels old. It challenges me, sharpens my thinking, and keeps my curiosity alive.
